PART I: Digital Data and Instruction

GRACoL Digital Press Form in PDF and InDesign formats
This includes all critical targets

Facilitate press and proofing system calibration by printing the GRACoL/SWOP Digital Press Form. You can measure the targets from this form to match the characterization data sets, measure gray balance, and create Neutral Print Density Curves for Black and the CMY 3-tone gray.

ICC Profile and GRACoL Characterization Data Set

ICC profiles have been created from the revised GRACoL2006_Coated1.txt datasets. These are generic 16-bit Version 2 ICC profiles as required for a PFD version 1.4 built with X-Rite's MonacoPROFILER. X-Rite maintains the ownership and copyright for the profiles but has granted limited use. These profiles can be used for creating separation files for, or simulating, GRACoL standard print conditions. We recommend each user create profiles for their own printing environment.

This document describes how to calibrate a printing press, proofing system, or any CMYK imaging device to the new GRACoL 7 specifications, and how to maintain those specifications during production.

ISO 12640-1 Graphic technology — Prepress digital data exchange and CMYK standard colour image data (CMYK/SCID)

ISO SCID mages on the press form enable you to visually determine the match to GRACoL Certified Proofs. Printing this digital press form is a critical ingredient to maintaining the G7™ calibration for your presses and proofing systems.

PART II – GRACoL Visual Reference

As of 2007, GRACoL Proofs are produced “to the numbers.” But if you feel the need for a visual reference, the GRACoL Visual Reference Kit can help you make the transition. You will choose a GRACoL #1 sheet produced by the manufacturer of your choice, certified to the numbers, to use as a visual reference proof.

Visual Reference Includes

One (1) hard copy proof with visual images and ADS color bar

Selected from a batch of proofs that have been colorimetrically measured and certified by IDEAlliance to be within tight tolerances to provide a visual reference. Each proof is numbered, dated and bears the IDEAlliance Certified Proof seal.

Colorimetric data

Data from the ADS Proofing Bar on your proof, plus colorimetric data from measurements of the IT8.7/4 target.
