The SWOP and GRACoL Calibration Kits have been
replaced by the SWOP G7 Calibration Kit and the GRACoL
G7 Calibration Kit.
With new technologies for measuring color and controlling
both the proofing and printing processes, the industry
can finally rely on metric evaluation rather than depending
on human evaluation of color and the likeness of visual
appearance.
The new SWOP and GRACoL G7 Calibration Kits include
a CD containing a Digital Press Form, in PDF and InDesign
formats, that provide all the critical targets, which
you can measure to match the newly created characterization
data sets. The Kits include the SWOP or GRACoL ICC Profile
and Characterization Data set, and instructions for
“calibrating, printing and proofing by the G7™
method.”
A second CD contains ISO 12640-1 Graphic technology—Prepress
digital data exchange and CMYK standard colour image
data (CMYK/SCID).
A visual reference is no longer needed for accurate
color control, but it may be necessary to visually prove
your color accuracy to your customers. Each Kit contains
a proof (not a press sheet) produced by the manufacturer
of your choice, certified to the numbers.
Also included in each Kit is one copy of a compilation
of the SWOP, GRACoL, G7 and DISC specifications and
guidelines.
